Reflections
To look, to dwell, to shimmer
Regarding time spent
Recalling, relishing or filled with remorse
The yesteryears, time passed
Dwindled away for evermore
And yet our memories
replay
Eternal highlights
Wavering in the present
Like the reflections on the pond
Where we once fed the ducks
Two small children riding their bikes
In a shaded woodland, summertime
And as winter draws near
I return to the same spot
The same trees still stand tall
Affected only by the elements
Shedding their leaves
Barren, awaiting seasonal re-growth
And so it is!
A new future, a new generation
New memories
Eternal promise!
