Hebrews 11
v1
‘Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we
cannot see.’
Faith is almost indefinable. It is something we all possess
and choose to either exercise or allow to lie dormant. This verse explains the
way in which faith functions; how it ties desire with the act of attaining the
things we have faith in.
Faith works when injected with enthusiasm and the unshakeable
acceptance that what we ‘will’ ie: wish for, is going to materialise.
Very often our faith works particularly well when we
determine a time scale, partly because we keep the object of our faith in mind
and strive towards attaining it. Faith is a positive act, a considered step
whatever context you are using it in from ultimate religious beliefs to
improving your everyday situation. It would appear that faith itself is
actually evidence because faith provides the proof. In many ways faith creates
a self-fulfilling prophecy and those who seek, find. I have just moved and
required ‘the right place at the right price and the right time.’ I set a 2
week deadline and these three major requests have all been met along with many
sub requirements; in fact, I have everything I asked for that fits my current
budget which is pretty amazing but if you understand faith it is the fulfilment
of the expected.
The best way to build faith is by working on easy to attain
things and seeing them appear or by taking an enormous step and being bowled
over by the results. Like all good things, we need to exercise faith for it to
stay in shape. Sometimes if everything goes well we can allow beneficial practices
to subside instead of boosting our system with inner strength and confidence.
As we are close to the New Year it might be worth taking a
look at the areas where your faith is strong and also where it could do with a
boost. Think about ways of strengthening your faith to enable you to move life
forwards in a positive direction. If you are on the right path you will excel
and if you are not, with faith you can find the best steps to move forwards.
Have faith, have confidence and progress!
