The popularity of opera has risen greatly over the past few years with the rise of the 3 tenors quite some time ago and more recently, Susan Boyle's surprising audition on the X-Factor. In addition we have had more insight into opera courtesy of the show 'Pop start to Opera Star.'
Tonight is, 'The Last Night of the Proms'- a grand occasion broadcast from the Royal Albert Hall and also from 4 parks across the UK. Tonight Joseph Calleja is one of the guest artist and he sang his solo, 'Granada' before leading everybody in the popular sing-a-long of traditional songs. As I do not follow opera, I thought it would be good to share a little more about this magnificent tenor whom we are told is as at home in the UK as he is in Malta.
Joseph is a beautiful singer and there are many of his performances available on Youtube if you wish to hear more of him.
